I got pooped in the face by a cow!

That is what started my career path into chiropractic. I grew up on a dairy farm in Indiana, but I had never milked a cow until I was a junior in high school. Dad had always done that job for 25 years without a vacation and was never sick or complained of an injury all those years, until one day he bent over wrong. He was in horrible pain going all the way down his leg. We hauled him off in the back of a car to a chiropractor twice a day for a week which brought him to a full recovery. I had to milk the cows for the first time in my life at 5:00 in the cold mornings. That is when the “poop” incident occurred, and it was also the first time that I heard of chiropractic.

I started going to the chiropractor after Dad recovered. He found a scoliosis of the spine from my sports injuries and gave me tremendous relief. I never told him that I had chronic sinus problems because I didn’t know that nerves from the spine effects everything, but after 3 months of care that all cleared up never to return. He also took a personal interest in me and asked me what I wanted to be. I didn’t know, but I had ruled out milking cows! He gave me books to read about the philosophy of chiropractic which made sense.

I went to premed at Manchester College and made the Dean’s list many times, and married my wife of 40 years. I then went to Palmer College of Chiropractic and graduated Magnum Cum Laude with an A- average. I love what I do. It is my passion and my hobby is health research. I have been in practice over 36 years years and have seen well over 20,000 patients from every continent except Antarctica.  Does anybody know somebody who has been there?

There is probably not a condition that I have not seen chiropractic help to some degree. Once patients realize that their body is designed to be self healing if they are adjusted, move well, think well, and eat well, they get the results. Two years ago on a Thursday afternoon, I saw patients that complained of the following conditions: Malaria (from Nigeria), Cholera (from Nigeria), Parasites, Squirrel Bite, Migraine Headache, Positive PAP Smear, HP virus from rape, Prostate Cancer, Rugby Injury, Kidney Problem, Bed Wetting, Sinus Infection, Allergies, Acute Gall Bladder Attack, Snoring and Grinding of Teeth, Vomiting, Fever, Irregular Heart Beat causing Dizziness, 2 Kids with Concussions, Child who swallowed 175 homeopathic pill and a panicked mom, Chest Pains, Child with stunted Growth, Tooth Infection the dentist could not help, Sciatica, Child seeing people no one else could see, Foot Pain, Emotional Stress, and Insecticide Poisoning.

As far as I can remember, they all recovered! They all had the big idea about health.

That is not the best news! Chiropractic is great at prevention and quality health maintenance. My wife, Mary, and I have been married for 40 years. We have never used our health insurance. She has used the medical profession to have 3 babies and I have been to a medical doctor only once since high school. Our 3 adult children and 9 grandkids which totals 147 kid years have only been to doctors for broken bones, stitches, baby delivery, birth defect hernia, concussion, and paper wad in the ear. Otherwise, chiropractic and nutrition gets it done! My grandmother almost made it to 101 with two grandsons as chiropractors. I plan on getting regular chiropractic check ups the rest of my life no matter how I feel so that I can live up to my fullest life potential.
